I am curious how to recall memories or images from one’s early childhood years when one only has a limited amount of information on paper. In this project, I delve into the impact of sounds and voices speaking Amharic, along with images recently gathered in Ethiopia, on our memory and perception of what can be remembered.
My goal is to explore how the combination of sound and visual stimuli can serve as keys, unlocking doors to memories that might have been concealed or lost over time. Through this artistic exploration, I aspire to craft an experience that not only delves into the personal realm but also navigates the intricate layers of memory, identity, and connection.
